Crimson Desert Patch 1.09.00 Released
Crimson Desert continues to receive regular updates since its release. The new 1.09.00 patch released by Pearl Abyss brings significant adjustments to the game’s control system, pet mechanics, character skills, animations, and interface. This update for Crimson Desert is particularly noteworthy for addressing the control complexity, a major complaint from players.
Crimson Desert 1.09.00 Patch Brings Control Adjustments
The most significant new feature of the patch is the controller key customization option. Players can now change the default control scheme to their preferences. One of the most criticized aspects of Crimson Desert since its release has been its complex control structure. Therefore, although the feature arrived a little late, it can significantly improve the experience for new players.
The 1.09.00 patch also expands the pet system. Approximately 30 small animal species have been added to the game, and these creatures can now be registered as pets. Additionally, the animations for raising and dropping certain pets have been revamped. These details aim to make daily interactions in Crimson Desert’s open world more natural.
The update also adds new skills for Damiane and Oongka. The input commands for these skills use the same structure as Kliff’s Blinding Flash Finisher ability. On the combat side, some Soul Consumption bugs for Kliff have been fixed, balance adjustments have been made to Oongka’s Quaking Fury ability, and an issue causing some of Damiane’s elemental effects to degrade performance has been resolved.
The patch notes also mention that visual assets have been overhauled. Some 2D visuals have been changed to better suit the game’s art direction. This suggests Pearl Abyss is continuing its content moderation following the AI-generated visual controversies surrounding launch. Patch 1.09.00 has been released for Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games Store, and Mac; the Mac App Store version is expected to arrive later.
