Hytale Modders have Recreated Call of Duty

Despite being in early access, Hytale has quickly built a strong modding community, continuing to push the boundaries with player creativity. Previous examples have shown different games and systems being recreated within Hytale. Now, modders have achieved something even more ambitious, successfully bringing a familiar FPS experience to the Hytale universe.

A Call of Duty Experience Inside Hytale

A new mod developed by the community adapts Call of Duty gameplay to Hytale. The mod transforms the game into a fast-paced first-person shooter, featuring classic Call of Duty-esque weapon mechanics and dynamic combat. Reports show players even performing familiar “trick shot” moves, highlighting the mod’s capabilities.

The mod also features the re-creation of some maps particularly associated with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The most talked-about is the Hijacked-like, narrow, action-oriented map design. This server-side mod operates in a deathmatch format, offering a structure that rivals classic FPS experiences.

The experience is enhanced by numerous details. With active score tracking, kill notifications, and a statistics system, the mod aims to transform Hytale from a temporary experiment into a fully-fledged multiplayer shooter. Moreover, this is described as just the beginning and development continues.

However, the Call of Duty influences don’t seem to be limited to this. There are rumors within the community that a wave-based Zombies mode is also being worked on. The fact that Hytale, still in early access, is hosting such comprehensive modes in such a short time clearly demonstrates the game’s flexibility and robust infrastructure.
