In Beast of Reincarnation, Whatever You Do, Don’t Look up at the Sky

Despite mixed user reviews, Beast of Reincarnation continues to surprise players with its intriguing secrets to uncover. One of the small details Game Freak has embedded in the open world is connected to a strange warning given early in the adventure. The game asks you not to look at the sky for too long, and naturally, most players try to see what happens by doing the opposite.

What Happens If You Look at the Moon in Beast of Reincarnation?

Early in the game, Emma is told not to look at the sky, and especially the shattered crescent moon, for too long. At first glance, this warning might seem like just dialogue reinforcing the dark atmosphere of the world. But when you turn the camera upwards and keep your gaze on the moon, something truly different begins.

After a while, an unsettling sound resembling wind is heard, and the screen begins to glow slightly. If you keep looking, the camera slowly zooms out from the character, and a progressively more distinct red frame surrounds the screen. If you don’t look away despite all these warnings, Emma suddenly collapses to the ground, and your character dies instantly.

This little secret isn’t a major gameplay mechanic, but it manages to make the world of Beast of Reincarnation feel more mysterious. It shows that the game’s warnings aren’t just for show, and suggests that the shattered moon in the sky might have an important role in the story. It’s clear Game Freak anticipated that players would do the opposite of what they’re told. After all, if a game says “don’t look up,” we all turn the camera to the sky at the first opportunity. Beast of Reincarnation responds to this curiosity with a fun but cruel surprise. If you’ve moved away from the save point, saving your progress before examining the moon might be a very good idea.
