According to the leak that happened recently, Silent Hill 2 Remake may include a playable origin story for the game’s notorious antagonist Pyramid Head.
Silent Hill 2 Remake may offer more than we expected
After years of asking Silent Hill 2 Remake, Konami finally announced that Silent Hill 2 Remake is happening. After the announcement, not many information given but at least we have a trailer to hold onto. But the lack of official info hasn’t stopped fans from trying to glean information from Steam updates, ratings websites, and online store descriptions, sparking all kinds of rumors about the Silent Hill 2 Remake.
The latest information that fans has is Best Buy Canada’s product description for the Silent Hill 2 Remake, which states that the game will include a playable origin story for “fan favourite character” Pyramid Head. Designed by artist Masahiro Ito, who is the creepy and powerful bad guy with triangle hat, had theories and speculation among fans since the game first launched in 2001.
It’s generally accepted that Pyramid Head is a manifestation of James Sunderland’s troubled psyche and the conflicting feelings the protagonist has about himself, his wife’s terminal illness, and the way it has altered their relationship.
In the game, Pyramid Head is relentless towards anybody that he encounters, including mostly James Sunderland, which is why Pyramid Head is here, to punish James Sunderland.
Now it’s been almost over a year since the announcement of Silent Hill 2 Remake and we have not a release date yet. But there are some rumors that the game will be available at March 2024 but we don’t have any official announcement yet, so take that information as a grain of salt.
Fans will just have to be patient and wait for Konami to give an official update. In the meantime, though it hasn’t been universally well received, many fans of the series have turned to the recently released Silent Hill: Ascension to satiate them while they wait.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is currently in development for PC and PS5.
