New Feature Leaked Early in The Sims 4

A new feature planned for The Sims 4 was accidentally shared prematurely by developer Maxis. Dubbed “SimSearch,” the tool aims to enhance the game’s community tab, the Gallery system, and help players more easily find character, house, and room designs. The leak surfaced in a briefly published post on the studio’s Instagram account.

SimSearch Could Reshape The Sims 4 Gallery System

The post, which Maxis quickly removed, stated that SimSearch was currently in testing. The feature was planned to be announced with the November 4th update. However, the descriptions in the German patch notes were hastily deleted before release, suggesting a last-minute delay.

New Feature Leaked Early in The Sims 4

According to leaked information, SimSearch will feature two different search modes: text-to-image and cross-language. Text-to-image search will allow players to find visual results based on the words they type; for example, typing “modern kitchen” will display modern kitchen designs in the Gallery. Cross-language search will allow players to find content using words they type in their own language.

This innovation will significantly improve the accessibility of the Gallery system, which has long been a source of complaints. AI-powered search systems, especially on community-focused platforms like The Sims Hub, will significantly simplify player content creation and discovery.

Although the SimSearch feature was removed from the latest update, its existence has been confirmed by official sources, so it is expected to be added to the game soon. Furthermore, this feature will be offered as a free addition, just like previous “Laundry List” updates. For Sims fans, this leak is not a bug, but rather early good news.
