NVIDIA Introduces DLSS 4.5 Technology

NVIDIA officially announced DLSS 4.5, the newest version of its DLSS technology, at CES 2026. The company emphasizes that this update offers a significant leap forward compared to previous versions, particularly in image clarity, temporal stability, and high refresh rates. Taking real-time upscaling technology a step further, DLSS 4.5 targets both existing RTX users and next-generation graphics cards.

DLSS 4.5 Boosts Image Quality and FPS Together

At the heart of DLSS 4.5 is the 2nd Generation Super Resolution Transformer. According to NVIDIA, this new architecture reduces ghosting, improves anti-aliasing, and provides a much more stable image in scenes. The difference is expected to be more noticeable, especially in fast camera movements and scenes with intense effects. This new Super Resolution technology is already available for all existing RTX graphics cards.

Another notable innovation is Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation. This feature dynamically scales FPS values according to the screen’s refresh rate, aiming for performance up to 240Hz at 4K resolution. However, this advanced frame generation system will only be available for RTX 50 series graphics cards in Spring 2026. NVIDIA also confirmed that DLSS 4.5 will be supported in over 400 games via the NVIDIA application.

Introduced alongside DLSS 4.5, RTX Remix Logic aims to add real-time environmental responses to in-game events. For example, ambient light, volumetric fog, particle effects, or weather conditions can change instantly when a door opens. The system can detect over 30 common in-game events and dynamically adjust lighting, material, and particle properties. This represents significant potential, especially for modding and rework projects.

NVIDIA also announced that native client support for Linux and Fire TV is now available. In short, DLSS 4.5 stands out as NVIDIA’s new showcase technology, aiming not just for higher FPS, but for a smarter and more responsive visual experience.
