Palworld Will Crossover with Terraria in 2025
Palworld will collaborate with indie game, Terraria in 2025. Pocketpair, the creator of Palworld, confirmed the news while giving a nod to a different “exciting” update that is coming soon.
Palworld and Terraria Collaboration
Palworld made it’s launch in early access for PC and Xbox this year. The monster focused game broke into the list of the most played games on Steam, reaching an all time peak of 2.1 million concurrent players. Despite all the success, it’s also been a challenging year for the Japanese indie studio that is currently facing a lawsuit from gaming giant Nintendo, on the grounds of alleged copyright infringement related to the latter’s Pokemon IP. In the midst of this legal turmoil, Palworld devs recently shared positive news regarding the game’s future content.
Pocketpair has announced a surprise collaboration with Terraria developer Re-Logic, teasing a forthcoming crossover between Palworld and the highly popular 2D sandbox game. The Tokyo-based developer didn’t share any details about the nature of the Palworld-Terraria crafting game teamup, except that it was scheduled to take place at some point in 2025 and that more information was on its way soon. Replying to the announcement on Twitter, Pocketpair’s Global Community Manager Bucky wrote, “Bet you didn’t see this one coming.” Several fans admitted being pleasantly taken aback by the news, with one of them saying, “That’s a crossover I didn’t expect.” Additionally, the Palworld studio stated that “exciting news” related to the game’s next update is also dropping “very soon.”
Since reaching the pinnacle of popularity at launch, Palworld has been ported to Mac and, more recently, to the PlayStation 5, bringing the survival game to new sets of players. Moreover, Pocketpair has also joined hands with PUBG Mobile developer Krafton to port Palworld to mobile in the future. With the monster capturing game gradually gaining access to new demographics, the Terraria collaboration next year seems to be coming at the right stage. The Palworld-Terraria update will likely bring something fresh for new players on PS5 as well as longtime players on PC and Xbox. Being a highly popular best-selling title itself, Terraria’s huge playerbase may also feel incentivized to check out Palworld when the forthcoming crossover releases.
While fans barely know what Pocketpair’s teamup with Re-Logic would entail, Terraria’s history of collaborations may offer at least a vague idea of what can be expected. In the past, multiple hit games have done a crossover with the pixel art game, bringing themed content to those titles. For instance, Dead Cells players received Terraria themed skins, as part of a crossover in the past. It will be interesting to see how different or how similar Palworld’s crossover with Terraria turns out to be compared to the others.
