Marvel’s Wolverine Surpassed Death Stranding 2 in Just 3 Days
Marvel’s Wolverine has been the subject of much debate before and after its release regarding its gameplay, control system, and story. Despite this, sales seem to be going well for Insomniac Games. According to estimated data shared by Alinea Insight, the game sold 1.9 million copies and generated $130 million in revenue in its first three days alone. This performance has already surpassed Death Stranding 2’s total PS5 sales.
Marvel’s Wolverine Surpasses Death Stranding 2 in Three Days
According to shared data, Death Stranding 2 has sold approximately 1.8 million copies and generated $129 million in revenue on PS5 to date. Wolverine, on the other hand, reached 1.9 million copies and $130 million in just three days. Thus, it surpassed Kojima Productions’ game’s total PS5 revenue in a very short time.
The difference becomes even more apparent when comparing the release dates of the two games. Death Stranding 2 generated approximately $51.7 million in revenue during the same three-day period. Wolverine’s first three-day revenue is about 60 percent higher than that. It also surpassed the performance of major titles like NBA 2K27, Resident Evil Requiem, and 007 First Light during the same timeframe.
Alene data shows that a significant portion of Wolverine players previously played Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. The game’s audience also heavily overlaps with widely popular titles like Fortnite, Roblox, GTA 5, NBA 2K27, and EA Sports FC 26. This indicates that the Wolverine brand appeals to a more mainstream player base.
Of course, these are not official sales figures released by Sony, but rather estimates based on market analysis. However, if they are close to accurate, Marvel’s Wolverine has become one of the strongest PlayStation Studios launches of 2026. Judging by the sales figures, the extent to which the game was affected by online controversies appears to have been quite limited.
