Paradox Accidentally Leaked Their New Game, Afterworld
Paradox Interactive has been hinting for some time that it will announce a new game before Gamescom Opening Night Live. However, a listing that appeared on the company’s own forum page may have revealed the name of the surprise early. The project, appearing under the name Afterworld, has not yet been officially announced, but the leaks are not limited to the name alone.
Afterworld Could Be Paradox’s Post-Apocalyptic Strategy Game
A listing titled Afterworld appeared among unreleased games on Paradox’s official forum. The listing was quickly noticed, and the name strengthened speculation that the game may have a post-apocalyptic theme. Paradox is previously known for large-scale strategy series such as Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, and Stellaris.
What makes the leak even more interesting is a detail allegedly belonging to the game: a Discord server. According to the description there, players will lead a surviving community, rediscover ancient technologies, manage settlements in the wasteland, and face both warfare and political struggles.
If this description is accurate, Afterworld will bring Paradox’s classic grand strategy structure to a post-apocalyptic world. Resource management, settlement development, and combat against different factions are expected to be central to the game. However, none of these details have been officially confirmed by Paradox at this stage.
Interestingly, the Discord server in question was later made private. This strengthens the possibility that the information was accidentally revealed. On the other hand, Paradox is known to have leaked some games and DLCs before their official announcement in the past. While Afterworld is expected to be unveiled at Gamescom 2026, it remains unclear whether this early listing was accidental or a deliberate marketing ploy.
