RPG Game Became Free on Steam

Steam’s “Free-to-Keep” campaigns give players the opportunity to add a game to their account for free for a limited time. In these campaigns, the game isn’t just temporarily playable; if claimed within the timeframe, it becomes permanent in the user’s account. Now, a creature-collecting RPG, normally priced at $7.99 has become free.

The game in the campaign is Dokimon Quest. Players can add the game to their Steam accounts for free until August 26th at 8 PM. Dokimon Quest is a turn-based creature-collecting RPG heavily inspired by the Game Boy Color era. The game features over 140 different Dokimon that can be caught and trained. The main story revolves around finding a lost childhood friend, exploring over 15 different regions in the Xelos area, including towns, caves, mountains, and seas.

The main story is said to last approximately 15-20 hours. There are also opportunities to find rare creature variations, complete collections, and access endgame content. Currently boasting a “Mostly Positive” user rating on Steam, the game is particularly praised for its retro visual style, exploration structure, and creature-collecting system.

Criticisms of Dokimon Quest focus more on the story, some technical issues, and mechanics that aren’t clearly explained. The development team has released numerous updates since launch.
