Paralives Gains Multiplayer Support
Despite being in early access, Paralives continues to attract strong interest among players who enjoy the simulation genre. Particularly noteworthy for players seeking alternatives to The Sims 4, the game has also built a rapidly growing community thanks to its mod support. This community has now added an unexpectedly comprehensive feature to the game. Developed by Nexus Mods user MarcusDavis2012, the ParaSplit – Splitscreen Multiplayer mod makes Paralives playable with two people on the same screen.
Splitscreen Multiplayer Mod Released for Paralives
The new mod allows two players to control different Para characters in the same house by splitting the screen in two. This system allows players to manage characters living in the same house together. Of course, this structure has some inherent limitations. Players need to play on the same plot, share the same family structure, and agree on a common living plan. Nevertheless, the emergence of unofficial multiplayer support for Paralives so early is seen as a significant development by the community.
The mod’s developer states that one of the things that made this feature possible was some previously unused multiplayer code in the game. If this information is correct, it is thought that the Paralives team may have been working on or at least considering an official multiplayer system in the future. However, there has been no official statement from the development team yet. Therefore, the current support should be considered entirely the work of the modding community.
In the ParaSplit mod, the HUD layout has also been revamped so that each player has their own interface. Some adjustments have also been made to the camera system to make the split-screen experience more comfortable. However, since the mod is still in its early stages, it is not expected to offer a completely flawless experience. The developer states that users may encounter some shortcomings and glitches.
Players who want to try this mod also need to use the ParaController mod from the same developer. This additional mod makes it possible to play Paralives with a controller and in an over-the-shoulder or first-person camera style. This makes the split-screen multiplayer system more usable. Although Paralives is still in early access, the fact that the modding community is producing such quick and creative solutions is a significant indicator that strengthens the game’s long-term potential.
