Players are Unhappy with Tekken: Dark Resurrection
PlayStation’s latest State of Play presentation has revealed the new classics that will be added to the PS Plus Premium library. However, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, coming in March, has been the subject of controversy since its announcement. Premium subscribers, in particular, focused on which version of the game would be released, and the details that emerged did not meet expectations.
Tekken: Dark Resurrection PSP Version Draws Criticism
The main objection from fans is the choice of the PSP version of Tekken: Dark Resurrection. The general consensus in the community is that the PS2 version is stronger in terms of content and technical aspects. The most frequently cited criticisms include the absence of some scenes and modes in the PSP version, lower graphic quality, and the lack of the Versus mode.
Multiplayer experience is crucial for the fighting game community. However, the lack of online support in the PS Plus Classics catalog may be one reason for Sony’s choice. Still, many players were hoping for at least the inclusion of the PS2 version, which offers more comprehensive local multiplayer.
Given that the Premium tier is already updated with fewer games compared to other PS Plus packages, the failure of even a single title to meet expectations fuels criticism. Weak additions are tolerable in the Essential and Extra tiers due to the larger number of games; however, the situation is more sensitive in Premium.
For now, the only known Premium game for March is Tekken: Dark Resurrection. Other content to be announced in the coming weeks may change the picture. But for now, the message from players is clear: Premium subscribers want to see more carefully selected classics titles.
