Rayman Creator Accidentally Revealed Details of New Remake

After years of silence for Rayman fans, there’s been a promising development. Series creator Michel Ancel, in an interview, almost officially confirmed the long-rumored Rayman remake project and shared the first hints about the new version.

First Details of the Rayman Remake Revealed

In an interview with Retro Gamer magazine, while discussing Rayman’s 30-year history, Michel Ancel hinted at the existence of a new project based on the first game. Ancel stated that it wouldn’t be a game built entirely from scratch, but rather “a kind of remake.” This statement directly supported the long-standing rumors of a Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition.

According to Ancel’s statements, this new Rayman version will feature HD graphics and will particularly address one of the most criticized aspects of the old game: difficulty. To this end, additional checkpoints will be added to the game. The aim is to make the game less frustrating for modern players without compromising the original experience.

These details also perfectly align with recent rumors of a “Rayman Anniversary Edition” that received an age rating. Although Ubisoft hasn’t made an official announcement yet, these words from the series creator almost certainly confirm the project’s existence. However, Ancel specifically emphasized that he doesn’t have a definite release date.

On the other hand, the shared information suggests that this might be a re-release focused on visual improvements and gameplay comfort rather than a comprehensive remake. Even so, this is a big step forward for Rayman fans. While an official announcement is said to be imminent, it’s considered highly likely that Ubisoft will introduce the project soon as part of its 30th-anniversary celebrations.
