Resident Evil 4 Remake Multiplayer Mod Revealed
Resident Evil 4 Remake, despite being released years ago, remains alive thanks to its modding community. Players have re-experienced the game with many different mods, from visual enhancements to gameplay changes. However, a new project takes the experience to a whole new level. Because thanks to the mod, Leon’s terrifying story can now be played with a friend.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Gains Co-op Support
The new multiplayer mod, spotted by Gamerant, has been released on NexusMods. Currently in beta, the mod allows two players to experience the Resident Evil 4 Remake story simultaneously. The basic principle of the mod is to synchronize two separate games in real time.
When a second player joins the session, two people can progress through the same scenario flow. Enemies, story events, doors, keys, alarms, and many interactive elements within the game are matched between the two players. This theoretically allows the campaign to be played as a shared co-op experience from start to finish. Given the tense nature of Resident Evil 4, this idea seems quite appealing to many players.
Of course, it’s important to remember that the mod is not yet a finished version. The developer is still working on some issues. Specifically, lag, frame rate drops, and stuttering in enemy movement can occur in some areas during synchronization. Also, the game freezing when opening the pause menu or inventory is another issue that can disrupt the co-op flow.
Nevertheless, this mod is a very exciting community project for Resident Evil 4 Remake. Considering that Capcom doesn’t officially offer such an option, it’s noteworthy that fans are creating a two-player story on their own. As the beta process progresses, it seems likely that the mod will become a more stable and enjoyable experience.
