Steam Announces Best-Selling Games of 2025
Steam officially announced the best-selling games of 2025 in the final days of the year. This list, compiled based on revenue, reveals not only sales figures but also the genres and experiences players gravitated towards throughout the year. Thanks to Steam’s annual Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories, both top-performing titles and high-performing games are more clearly distinguished. Looking at the list as a whole, it is clear that 2025 was a year dominated by multiplayer games.
Games That Topped the Steam List
According to the data released by Steam, the highest-grossing games released in 2025 were grouped in the Platinum category. The vast majority of the 12 games in this group were multiplayer experiences. Games like Arc Raiders, Dune: Awakening, Battlefield 6, and EA Sports FC 26 stood out throughout the year for both high player numbers and constant interaction.
Single-player titles were more limitedly represented on the Platinum list. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and Hollow Knight: Silksong were exceptional examples that managed to find a place among multiplayer games. This shows that Steam users are increasingly turning to games that offer long-lasting and social gameplay in 2025.
The Gold category shows a more balanced distribution. Single-player titles such as Doom: The Dark Ages, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Stellar Blade, and Dying Light: The Beast achieved strong sales figures in this category. This shows that single-player games still appeal to a significant audience.
The Silver and Bronze categories feature more niche titles. These games, which don’t reach a wide audience but have built loyal player communities, once again prove that the Steam ecosystem maintains its diversity. The fact that Steam will update the final list on January 15th shows that surprise changes are still possible.
