Task Bar Hero Surpasses Half a Million Players on Steam

Task Bar Hero broke its own record on Sunday, reaching 526,596 concurrent players. Moreover, this surge doesn’t seem to be just a short-lived boom. The fact that the player count is still around 500,000 as the week progresses suggests that the game may be more than just a temporary internet fad.

After its release on May 27th, the game began to grow steadily. It quickly surpassed strong Steam titles like Path of Exile 2, Apex Legends, and Marvel Rivals. Its creation of a new habit within the idle genre is a key factor in keeping players constantly returning.

However, Task Bar Hero isn’t an entirely problem-free success story. User reviews on Steam are currently mixed. A significant number of players complain about bugs, server issues, lost progress, and loot problems. The developers’ efforts to combat cheating have also sparked a new debate, with some players claiming they’ve been unfairly accused.

The game’s economic system is also at the center of the controversy. Since players can sell their loot for real money on the marketplace, the issue of cheating becomes even more sensitive. While the developers want to protect this marketplace, it’s claimed that some innocent players may have been affected by this process. Nevertheless, looking at the current situation, Task Bar Hero doesn’t seem to have lost its massive player base yet, despite all these problems.
