Thanos Is Ready to Return to the MCU
Thanos, one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most iconic villains, may be making a comeback. The character, who became an unforgettable figure thanks to Josh Brolin’s performance in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, is rumored to return in the new Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars films. Brolin hasn’t ruled out this possibility in his latest statements, exciting fans.
Thanos May Be Returning to the MCU
Recent leaks indicate that Thanos will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner than expected. According to reliable sources, Josh Brolin has begun negotiations with Marvel Studios to reprise his role as the Mad Titan. Last year, in an interview with Collider, the actor said, “If the right circumstances arise, I would consider playing Thanos again.”
Brolin also stated that he might be involved in the project if the Russo brothers, who direct the Avengers series, were mentioned:
“Playing Thanos was a completely different experience. If Joe or Anthony Russo came to me and said, ‘Let’s do it again,’ I would never turn them down.”
New rumors suggest that Thanos will make a brief appearance in Avengers: Doomsday, or even be defeated early by Doctor Doom. This could be a dramatic move to emphasize the power of Marvel’s new villain.
While Brolin didn’t directly confirm it in a recent interview with ET, he hinted that he had a conversation with one of the Russo brothers:
“Joe Russo might have come to me with an idea, I’m not sure. But if he did, I wouldn’t rule it out. It all depends on the story.”
Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are considered the biggest projects in MCU history. Both films will be directed by the Russo brothers and are slated for release in 2026 and 2027, respectively. It’s not yet clear whether Thanos will return, but Brolin’s statements and leaked information significantly strengthen the possibility of a return to the “Mad Titan,” a role Marvel fans have been waiting for.
