The End of the Road Seems to Come for the Shadowverse

For players who have been building card decks and engaging in strategy battles for years, Shadowverse is now entering its final phase. Rumors about the game’s closure have been circulating for some time, but the official announcement has clarified the situation; this marks the beginning of a period that is both nostalgic and somewhat sad for players. Shadowverse, which has been active for a long time and has reached a significant audience, especially on mobile and PC, has become more than just a game; it has become almost an addiction, and now this long journey is slowly approaching its end.

How Will the Shadowverse Closure Process Work?

Shadowverse’s servers will be completely shut down on June 30, 2026. After this date, access to the game will be impossible, and players will not be able to log into their existing accounts. This means that years of accumulated card collections and progress will no longer be actively usable.

The closure process is progressing gradually. As of March 24th, the sale of crystals, the in-game currency, has stopped. While players can still use their existing crystals, new purchases will not be possible. Additionally, all players will receive a Premium Pass to make the final period a little more enjoyable.

In April and May, the game will not be completely discontinued. Card pools will continue to be replenished, new seasons will be launched, and various events will keep players active. In short, instead of silently shutting down the game, the development team is trying to offer players a proper farewell.

With this closure, Shadowverse leaves behind a significant legacy. Over 5000 cards, dozens of expansion packs, esports tournaments, and spin-off projects have created a substantial ecosystem. However, the series is not completely over; it has been replaced by Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, and the new game is actively continuing its journey.
