The Role of Grace in Resident Evil Requiem Remains a Mystery

Capcom’s new main game, Resident Evil Requiem, has begun to take shape in recent weeks with the release of gameplay footage and previews. During this process, the new character Grace Ashcroft, whom players will control, and her relationship with Leon Kennedy have garnered significant interest, while the fact that the voice actress’s identity remains a secret has further fueled curiosity.

Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem Sparks Intrigue

In the shared scenes, Grace Ashcroft’s feelings of fear, panic, and helplessness are powerfully conveyed through the voice acting performance. Players note that the character’s reactions are extremely natural and convincing, with some commenting that the performance is worthy of nominations at year-end awards ceremonies. However, despite all this praise, Capcom has not officially announced the name of the actress who voices Grace.

Grace’s reactions are being compared by many fans to Leon Kennedy’s portrayal in Resident Evil 2 Remake. The fact that a young and inexperienced character is struggling for survival evokes memories of Leon’s past, suggesting a deeper connection between the two characters. This reinforces the idea that Leon sees a part of himself in Grace.

From a community perspective, Grace Ashcroft being one of the first new main characters in the main series in a long time carried a significant risk. However, initial reactions show that this risk was managed successfully. The character’s emotional responses, her interaction with Leon, and the success of the voice acting allowed players to quickly embrace Grace.

On the other hand, game director Koshi Nakanishi recently touched upon the relationship between Leon and Ada Wong in an interview. This statement raised the possibility that other familiar names from the series might also play an indirect or direct role in the story. However, for now, the only thing that is certain is that the character of Grace and the actor portraying her will remain a mystery for some time in Resident Evil Requiem.
