The Star Wars Eclipse Project is in It’s Infancy

First announced in 2021, Star Wars Eclipse generated great excitement, but despite the years that have passed, it still remains shrouded in mystery. New information that has emerged about the long-silenced project has somewhat lowered expectations. It seems the game is still in development, but things aren’t progressing as quickly as we thought.

Star Wars Eclipse Development Process Slower Than Expected

For Quantic Dream, who are working on Star Wars Eclipse, things don’t seem to be going very well. According to reports, the project is progressing “very slowly,” and some sources even say there has been no significant progress for months. This naturally raises questions about the game’s future.

What’s even more interesting is that a certain portion of the game is already completed. However, problems in the remaining development process are significantly slowing progress. Therefore, the release date for Star Wars Eclipse currently seems quite distant, and no concrete developments are expected in the short term.

One of the most critical points here is the financial side. Although NetEase is the studio’s biggest backer, they are cautious about investing further in the project. In fact, according to rumors, the company wants to see the performance of other projects first before deciding on Eclipse’s future.

At this point, Spellcasters Chronicles plays a key role. The success of this early access game could directly determine the fate of Star Wars Eclipse. If the expected commercial success doesn’t materialize, there are talks that NetEase might reduce its support for the project. In short, the game’s future now depends not only on the development process but entirely on financial success.
