The unofficial trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is showing in theaters
As rumors of a trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day intensify, it has emerged that an unofficial trailer for the film has been shown in some cinemas worldwide. Fans, eagerly awaiting the film’s release in about six months, began sharing these seemingly genuine videos on social media. However, details quickly emerged clarifying that the trailer was not from Marvel or Sony.
The unofficial Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer has surfaced
The trailer appears to focus on Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, in a post-Spider-Man: No Way Home world where his identity is forgotten. The trailer also features Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Michael Mando as Scorpion, and Sadie Sink in a mysterious role. These details led to the video being quickly mistaken for a real trailer.
However, the entire trailer is fan-made. It cleverly pieces together footage from older Spider-Man films, various MCU productions, and even non-Marvel projects. The screening of this trailer in theaters is being interpreted as a noteworthy but controversial method used by theaters to capitalize on the growing hype.
This is a familiar scenario for Marvel fans. A similar process occurred before No Way Home; fake trailers and posters circulated for weeks. At that time, anticipation constantly rose until the official trailer arrived, and rumors spiraled out of control. Now, the same cycle is repeating itself for Brand New Day.
So far, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have not announced an official trailer release date. The film will be released on July 31st, and this time Destin Daniel Cretton is directing instead of Jon Watts. While an official trailer is likely to be released soon, it’s clear that the footage currently showing in theaters is entirely fan-made.
