Two Names are Competing for the Role of Professor X in the X-Men Reboot
Marvel Studios has long been known to be auditioning for the X-Men reboot, and now all eyes are on Charles Xavier. While various names have been mentioned previously for the role, recent developments indicate the pool of potential candidates is narrowing. With only days to go until D23, industry rumors suggest Marvel is preparing a major announcement regarding mutants.
Who will Play Professor X in the X-Men Reboot?
According to recent claims, Christopher Abbott recently auditioned for the role of Professor X and may be one of the leading candidates. Abbott, known for his roles in films like Kraven the Hunter and Wolf Man, is reportedly being considered for the role of Charles Xavier, but Marvel Studios has not yet made any official announcement regarding the actor.
Another prominent name that has long been mentioned for the role is Bill Skarsgård. While there hasn’t been much new information recently regarding Skarsgård’s candidacy, it’s reported that his name is still not entirely off the table. It’s also claimed that Tom Pelphrey auditioned for Professor X but didn’t get the role. Therefore, the current situation suggests that Abbott and Skarsgård are the two strongest options.
There’s also activity in the rest of the X-Men Reboot cast. Sadie Sink has been confirmed to reprise her role as Jean Grey from Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Samara Weaving is rumored to be joining as Emma Frost, and Kit Connor as Scott Summers/Cyclops. Asa Germann is said to have auditioned for Cyclops but didn’t get the role, although he may be considered for another character in the film.
Adam Driver is rumored to be playing one of the main villains. Names like Magneto, Mister Sinister, and Sebastian Shaw are being considered, but there are no confirmed characters yet. Marvel Studios is rumored to be making a major announcement regarding the X-Men at their D23 presentation on August 14th. If the full X-Men reboot cast is indeed announced there, the Professor X debate could soon come to an end.
