While Rumors About GTA 6 on PC Continue, Take-Two Makes a Noteworthy Statement

Take-Two hasn’t given a direct date for the long-debated PC version of GTA 6, as it will initially only be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, recent statements from CEO Strauss Zelnick indicate that the PC platform has become much more important for Take-Two than in the past. This statement has naturally fueled rumors about when the PC version of GTA 6 might arrive.

Take-Two Says the PC Platform is Becoming Increasingly Important

Speaking at Take-Two’s annual shareholder meeting, Strauss Zelnick answered a question about which platforms the company releases its games on. While stating that their strategy has always been to focus on platforms with a significant player base, Zelnick specifically emphasized that the PC has become increasingly important for the company over time.

While Rumors About GTA 6 on PC Continue, Take-Two Makes a Noteworthy Statement

This statement doesn’t constitute official confirmation for a PC version of GTA 6. As with previous major titles, Rockstar will likely release GTA 6 first on consoles. However, Take-Two’s increasing focus on the PC market strengthens the possibility that the wait between console and PC versions might be shorter than in the past.

Recent rumors also support this possibility. Some claims suggest that the PC version of GTA 6, along with its online component, could be released in 2027. However, neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has yet announced an official release date for the PC version. Therefore, the 2027 figure should be approached with caution for now.

The PC version of GTA 5 arrived approximately 19 months after its console release. Whether the same timeline will be applied to GTA 6 is unknown. Nevertheless, Take-Two’s view of PC as a much more valuable market strongly suggests that players may not have to wait as long this time.
