Batman Part II Set Photos Reveal 5 Big Surprises
The Batman Part II, as Matt Reeves prepares to expand his Gotham universe, is already generating quite a buzz with set photos and videos. The images don’t fully reveal the film’s story, but they offer significant clues about the problems Bruce Wayne will face, the attitude of the people of Gotham, and Batman’s relationship with the police. Of course, some of this is based on interpretations of the images, and we’ll learn the full context when we see the film.
5 Big Clues from The Batman Part II Set
The People of Gotham Hate Bruce Wayne
The set footage shows Bruce Wayne being escorted through a crowd of angry protesters. The banners carried by the crowd contain harsh messages directed at the wealthy and Gotham elite. This suggests Bruce isn’t a beloved billionaire in the city. In the sequel, he may need to confront Gotham more often, not just as Batman, but as Bruce Wayne himself.
Batman Faces Off Against the GCPD Again
A large chase scene was filmed in which Batman is pursued by police cars, a helicopter, and a SWAT team. The footage shows the Dark Knight attempting to escape in the Batmobile, and later using a GCPD motorcycle. The presence of a blonde woman in the passenger seat of the Batmobile also raised questions. It’s speculated that this person could be Scarlett Johansson’s mysterious character, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The Batmobile is Completely Destroyed
The police chase appears to end at a rather drastic point. Set photos reveal that Batman’s Batmobile is heavily damaged. This scene could pave the way for the vehicle to be restored in the sequel. It also shows that the action scale of The Batman Part II has increased significantly compared to the first film.
Bruce Wayne Comes to the Brink of Death
One of the most striking images came from a snowy Gotham harbor. Alfred is seen trying to revive Bruce Wayne, who is lying motionless on the ground. Bruce’s hands being tied raises the possibility that he may have been thrown into the water or taken captive. The presence of a woman and a young child in the same scene has reignited Robin rumors. However, the child’s identity is still unknown.
Court of Owls and the New Batsuit
There are also minor changes to Batman’s costume. The ears on the mask appear longer, and the overall design seems a bit thinner. The bigger surprise, however, was a banner carried by one of the protesters that read “Court of Fowls.” This detail significantly strengthened theories that the Court of Fowls might somehow feature in The Batman Part II. However, it’s important to remember that a single banner doesn’t definitively reveal the organization’s role in the story.
When all the set images are considered together, The Batman Part II seems to be pitting Bruce Wayne against the city’s inhabitants, the police, and Gotham’s more hidden forces. However, we’ll have to wait for the film itself to learn the true context of these scenes.
