Xbox Project Kennan: Price, Release Date and What We Know
Microsoft is preparing to make a strong entry into the portable gaming device market. This new device, known as “Xbox Project Kennan“, is being developed in collaboration with ASUS and is planned to be released in 2025. The device, which has a design similar to the ASUS ROG Ally, will meet gamers with an “Xbox”-style touch. Project Kennan, which will run on the Windows operating system, will provide access to both PC games and Xbox services.

Xbox Project Kennan is being developed by ASUS and its design includes familiar elements from ASUS’s portable gaming devices. It is stated that the device will have a structure similar to ASUS’ ROG Ally model, but will include differences such as the Xbox-specific guide button and more pronounced grip areas. It is not yet clear whether Kennan is a continuation of the ASUS ROG Ally series or a completely independent model.
Project Kennan is designed as a PC gaming device, so it is not expected to run all Xbox games. However, Xbox Play Anywhere supported games will be playable on the device. In addition, Xbox Cloud Gaming service will provide access to games in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library. Kennan will also support other gaming platforms such as Steam, Battle.net, and GOG, offering a wide range of games.
Although the price of the device has not yet been finalized, it is estimated that the starting model will have a price tag between $499 and $599. It is said that a higher-priced model may include more powerful hardware or a larger SSD. However, it is also stated that global economic conditions and supply chain issues may affect prices.
Xbox Project Kennan is expected to be introduced in the summer of 2025 and released by the end of the year. Microsoft is working intensively to make the Windows operating system more user-friendly for portable devices. Kennan is thought to play an important role as the first step of the Xbox ecosystem in the portable world.
