A Lara Croft Actress has Made a Statement About Legacy of Atlantis

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis has passed a significant milestone in its development. Alix Wilton Regan, who plays the new Lara Croft, announced that she has completed her final official save session for the main game. Her statement suggests that a large portion of the game’s core content is ready and the team may be nearing the bug fixing phase.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Makes Great Progress

Alix Wilton Regan stated that the completion of the main save work on the project was both a big and emotional moment for her. Recalling that the process began in 2022, she said that after more than four years of work, a significant milestone has been reached. However, she also emphasized that additional saves may be made in the future and that some bugs in the game will need to be fixed.

This announcement is being interpreted as Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis potentially nearing full playability. However, the development team has not shared any official information about the game’s current status. While the completion of main voice recordings generally indicates that a game has reached an advanced stage in terms of content production, optimization, bug fixes, and final adjustments can take a long time.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will reinterpret the first game in the series with modern technologies. Developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, the game will be released on February 12, 2027. Alix Wilton Regan will also take on the role of Lara Croft for the first time in this project, becoming the new voice of the series after Camilla Luddington, who portrayed the character in the Survivor trilogy.

Regan will not only reprise her role in the remake but will also voice Lara Croft in the next game in the series, Tomb Raider: Catalyst. Set in North India, Catalyst is planned to be part of a shared timeline that brings together different eras in the series. The developer had previously stated that he wanted to bring back the confident and sarcastic attitude of the 1990s to the character. The completion of the Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis save file shows that the new era is one step closer to being introduced to players.
