Diablo 4 New Season Start Date Announced
Blizzard Entertainment has shared details for Diablo 4’s new season, “Season of Sorcery.” Starting on January 21, 2025, this season will take players deep into the swamps of Hawezar. Players will gain magical abilities, collect lost heads and deliver them to the “Tree of Whispers,” and earn the loyalty of the Witch Coven. The new season will also feature an Armory system for both Eternal and Seasonal characters, new legendary equipment, unique abilities, and a new pet named “Dorian.”
Diablo 4 Season of Sorcery Details
In Diablo 4’s 7th season, players will be introduced to three different categories of spells called “Sorcery Powers”: Eldritch (destructive spells), Psyche (defensive and mental attacks), and Growth & Decay (healing and poisoning spells). To develop these powers, Coven’s reputation system must be completed, new enemies called “Headrotten” must be defeated, and resources called “Restless Decay” must be collected. Additionally, more abilities can be unlocked through the newly added “Forgotten Altars.”
The new season also draws attention with open-world events called “Head Hunts.” In these events, players will be able to collect rewards by defeating powerful enemies. In addition, new “Secret Stones” earned from Whisper missions will further strengthen the sorcery powers of the characters.
Blizzard also announced the rewards of the season journey. Players will be able to have a new pet named “Dorian” by serving the Tree of Whispers. Those who purchase the Premium Battle Pass will earn special rewards such as the “Grand Witch Armor Set,” a new mount called Nightwinder, and mount armor. Diablo 4’s “Season of Sorcery” is seen as Blizzard’s big move against new competitors such as Path of Exile 2. Players will be able to learn more details in the developer broadcast on January 16.
