Dinoblade Sold 36,000 Copies on Steam in 24 Hours

Dinoblade quickly gained significant attention on Steam after its release, standing out among independent games. Offering players the opportunity to control a sword-wielding Spinosaurus, the game sparked curiosity with both its unusual theme and action-based role-playing gameplay. The sales figures achieved in the first 24 hours represent a remarkable start for a project developed by a small team.

Dinoblade Makes a Strong Start on Steam

Developed by Team Spino, Dinoblade sold over 36,000 copies in its first 24 hours. Studio founder Jean Nguyen described the game’s rapid rise to this level as an emotional experience. Nguyen also works as a senior gameplay animator at Sucker Punch, known for the Ghost of Tsushima series.

According to SteamDB data, the game reached 2,204 concurrent players on its release day. Shortly after release, over a thousand players were actively playing. Dinoblade also climbed to eighth place in Steam’s wishlist activity. The development team had previously announced that the game had surpassed 500,000 wishlists before its release.

Dinoblade is described as an action role-playing game set in a prehistoric world. Players control a giant Spinosaurus, fighting enemies with swords. The game’s most appealing aspect is its combination of dinosaur themes and melee combat mechanics. This concept is frequently highlighted positively in social media posts and user comments.

The game is currently on sale with a 10% discount for seven days during its launch week. The campaign ends on July 30th, and Dinoblade is currently available on Steam for $17.99. Team Spino stated that feedback from players and support during the demo period played a significant role in the project’s development. The first day’s results suggest that Dinoblade could achieve a level of success that will be talked about for a long time among independent games.
