Fable Collector’s Edition Sold Out Completely Before its Release

Fable, with its long-awaited return, is considered one of the most important games on the Xbox platform. Developed by Playground Games, the reboot was made available for pre-order after the latest Xbox presentation. Alongside the standard version of the game, a special collector’s edition was announced for fans who wanted physical content. Apparently, this package was very popular among players despite its price, as the development team announced that the collector’s edition has completely sold out.

Fable Collector’s Edition Stocks Run Out Quickly

The Fable Collector’s Edition was priced at $199.99. The package included a Jack of Blades statue, a steelbook case, and various extra contents. While this price seemed high to many players, the fact that the series hasn’t had a new main game for years seems to have increased interest in the collector’s package. According to Playground Games, there are no more collector’s editions left to distribute.

What’s even more striking is the activity in the second-hand market immediately after the stocks ran out. On eBay, some sellers are listing the Fable Collector’s Edition package for around $800. That’s almost four times the official price. This brings back the classic scenario we often see with collector’s editions: genuine fans struggle to acquire them, while opportunists step in at much higher prices.

Fable Collector's Edition Sold Out Completely Before its Release

Playground Games hasn’t announced a new stock plan for the collector’s edition at this stage. Instead, players are being offered the Premium Edition option. This version will offer in-game bonuses but will not include the physical items in the collector’s package. Therefore, the official option for those wanting the statue and steelbook seems to be closed for now.

This early sell-out can also be interpreted as a positive sign for Fable. After all, the series has been quiet for a long time, and this reboot will be the first Fable game developed by Playground. In a time when Xbox is reeling from studio closures and sales rumors, the game’s success becomes even more significant. This intense interest in the collector’s edition shows that Fable still has strong brand value.
