Kiln Announced for PS5, Xbox Series and PC
Kiln, a collaboration between Xbox Game Studios and Double Fine Productions, has been officially announced. Developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, the game will be available this spring and will be added to the Game Pass library from day one.
Kiln Centers on Multiplayer Pottery Battles
Kiln offers an extraordinary multiplayer experience that blends creativity with destruction. Players shape their own pots on a pottery wheel, and these designs directly shape their characters in the arena. The size, width, and form of the pot directly affect speed, durability, and attack style.
The game allows for many combinations, from small and fast pots to large and durable forms. Different designs, such as pitchers, bowls, and plates, grant unique abilities, and the role distribution within the team is shaped according to these choices. Success is achieved not only through individual skills but also through teamwork.
The main goal of the teams is to win the battle by collecting enough water to extinguish the opponents’ furnace. As the battlefield progresses, it fills with broken pottery pieces, and coordination is crucial in this chaotic environment. Kiln combines the classic party brawler structure with physics-based gameplay.
Outside of matches, players can hone their pottery-making skills in a social area called The Wedge. Here, players can decorate their pots, share their designs with others, and examine different pottery pieces produced by the community. Closed beta registrations for Kiln are already open.
