Most ARC Raiders Players Are On Steam

Embark Studios’ post-apocalyptic shooter, ARC Raiders, continues to rapidly grow its player base following its release. According to company data, the game reached 700,000 concurrent players across all platforms last weekend, with PC players making up the vast majority of this audience.

According to Embark Studios, 64% of ARC Raiders’ active players access the game through Steam. The remaining 36% are PlayStation and Xbox users. This percentage further demonstrates the PC platform’s interest in the extraction shooter genre. The development team aims to make the game a long-term project with community support and a schedule of upcoming content.

ARC Raiders, released on October 30, 2025, offers a fresh take on the genre’s classic formula. Players must scavenge resources and survive while battling an AI-controlled robotic threat. While this structure follows a similar pattern to PC-focused games like Escape from Tarkov and Gray Zone Warfare, ARC Raiders’s atmosphere offers a much more cinematic narrative.

However, interest among console players hasn’t yet reached the desired level. The “extraction shooter” concept, particularly on PlayStation and Xbox, is still considered a relatively new experience. Previous console adaptations of the genre have been limited to attempts like Call of Duty: DMZ. However, ARC Raiders stands out as the first strong candidate to demonstrate that the genre will be adopted on consoles.

Embark Studios states that player growth will continue and that the game will be kept alive with regular content updates throughout 2026. The company plans to maintain player engagement with new missions, cosmetic content, and community-focused events. It looks like ARC Raiders is well on its way to becoming not only a launch success but also a long-term community experience.
