With the Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom bring back franchise’s most popular game to current generation. After 2 and 3 Remake, Capcom improved theirself with the success of 4 remake.
Now, Capcom is thanking its fans for getting the Resident Evil 4 Remake past the threshold of 8 million copies sold. The developer account left a message for fans in Japanese and English, thanking the 8 million plus fans and sharing a piece of art to commemorate the occasion.
This milestone is impressive for Capcom, but it still couldn’t managed to surpass the original version’s sale. Resident Evil 4’s 2005 version has sold over 13 million copies, though it’s had a long time to do so and has accomplished it across a multitude of gaming platforms that it’s been ported to over the years. The top three entries to the series right now are Resident Evil 7 with just shy of 14 million copies sold, Resident Evil 2 remake with 14.2 million, while Resident Evil 5 still holds the crown with 14.8 million sales.
Fans are looking forward to see more Remakes for Resident Evil franchise. Fans are mostly looking forward to see Code Veronica X remake, which is leaked few months ago. Resident Evil 5 Remake is also confirmed with Resident Evil 4 Remake ending. Aside from that, Resident Evil 9 is around the corner, which means that Capcom will mostly rely on main entry game.
We will see which Resident Evil game will make it’s launch next year. This year will end soon and no Resident Evil news shared yet.
