Resident Evil Requiem’s Success Was Celebrated with Leon and Grace Cakes
Resident Evil Requiem quickly became one of the fastest-selling games in the series shortly after its release, proving to be a huge success for Capcom. The new installment in the horror series continues to be in the spotlight not only for its sales figures but also for the impact it has had on players. The latest celebration took this success to a more fun level. Capcom celebrated the 7 million sales mark with special Leon and Grace themed cakes.
Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses 7 Million Sales
Resident Evil Requiem gained momentum very quickly after its release on February 27th. Reaching 6 million sales in March, the game managed to surpass 7 million by April 24, 2026. This shows that the game not only had a strong launch but also maintained its post-launch interest. The fact that the horror genre is still embraced by a large player base shows that Capcom’s investment in the series has paid off.
The most talked-about aspect of the celebration was the special cakes prepared for Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft. In images shared by director Koshi Nakanishi, the giant cakes designed specifically for the two characters stand out. The Leon-themed cake features dark tones and axe details, while the Grace cake includes white cladding, blood effects, and zombie hands, all fitting the horror atmosphere. This small but thoughtful celebration seems to have been well-received by fans.
On the gaming side, Capcom’s plans for Resident Evil Requiem are not yet complete. A new mini-game is expected to be added in May, and it’s anticipated to be The Mercenaries, one of the series’ beloved modes. This mode could offer players a more arcade-style experience focused on fighting waves of enemies within a time limit and chasing high scores. This would create a reason for players who have finished the main story to return.
In addition, it’s known that story-driven DLC is also being developed. However, this DLC is expected to take some time, making its release potentially delayed until 2027. For now, the focus is on Leon, Grace, and potential new character connections. Given the sales success of Resident Evil Requiem, it wouldn’t be surprising if Capcom continues to support this game for a long time.
