ROG Xbox Ally Finally Unveiled
The long-awaited Xbox portable device has finally been revealed at Xbox Games Showcase 2025. Developed in collaboration with Microsoft and ASUS, ROG Xbox Ally has been on the agenda with previous leaks and has finally been officially introduced. This new device, which works integrated with the Xbox ecosystem, claims to take the portable gaming experience to a different level.
ROG Xbox Ally Draws Attention with Its Features
Sarah Bond, who took the stage at the event, said, “This is an Xbox you can hold in your hands” while introducing the device. This Xbox-themed handheld console is powered by the AMD Ryzen processor family. Thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere support, users can freely use their Xbox libraries across devices with the same account.
The device will be available in two different models. The standard ROG Xbox Ally comes with an AMD Ryzen Z2A processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. The more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X model will have a Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. Both devices have a physical design compatible with Xbox controllers.
The first images of the device drew attention with its controller-style case and prominent Xbox button. These details also confirm the claims that Microsoft has abandoned the idea of producing a first-party handheld console and is developing this device under the name Project Keenan in collaboration with ASUS. Both models are planned to be released in the 2025 holiday season.
