Styx: Blades of Greed Delayed to 2026

An unexpected update has arrived for Styx: Blades of Greed, with the new adventure players had hoped for this year being postponed until 2026. Cyanide Studio states that they have been intensively polishing the game’s systems in recent months, working particularly hard to refine the stealth and combat loops. The studio says that this additional time will allow them to enhance Styx’s atmosphere and gameplay to the level it deserves.

Styx: Blades of Greed Announces New Date

In a statement for Styx: Blades of Greed, the development team emphasized that they are “incredibly proud” of the game’s development so far. However, they emphasize that finishing touches are essential for a better experience. February 19, 2026, has now been officially announced as the release date.

In the postponement announcement, the studio stated that they were working intensively to ensure the stealth mechanics worked more smoothly and the atmosphere of each area felt more immersive. It’s said that additional time was needed, particularly because Styx: Blades of Greed is undergoing system rework. The game is intended to appeal to both new players and those familiar with the series.

While Styx: Blades of Greed follows the story of Shards of Darkness, the developers emphasize that playing previous games is not required. This allows even newcomers to the series to easily jump into the game. The PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S versions are expected to release simultaneously.

Cyanide Studio says that despite the postponement, the community support has motivated them. The team believes that, despite entering the final stages, the final improvements will make the game even more powerful. Thus, Styx: Blades of Greed is preparing to launch in early 2026.
