According to the data, the most popular PC games of 2025 show that free-to-play titles still hold a strong position.

According to data shared by NewZoo, free-to-play games once again dominate the list of most popular PC games in 2025. Roblox tops the list, accounting for approximately 9.7% of total PC playtime. Roblox is followed by Counter-Strike 2 (7%) and League of Legends (6.9%).
Another point highlighted in the report is the decline in popularity of battle royale games. Once one of the strongest genres in the sector, these games are now lower down the list. For example, Apex Legends only managed to secure a place towards the bottom with a 0.9% market share.
On the other hand, the rise of extraction shooter games like Escape from Tarkov is also noteworthy in the report. Developed by Battlestate Games, the game ranked 11th, accounting for 1.7% of total playtime, surpassing popular titles like PUBG, GTA 5, and Marvel Rivals.
