The Blood of Dawnwalker Will Take Your Character into the Future
The Blood of Dawnwalker is already generating great interest as it’s a new action RPG from former CD Projekt Red developers. Players looking for a new dark fantasy experience to fill the void left by The Witcher series are closely following this project from Rebel Wolves. However, the game seems poised to impress not only with its atmosphere and vampire theme, but also with its long-term storyline. Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has revealed that player choices will carry over into future games.
The Blood of Dawnwalker Will Carry Your Choices to Subsequent Games
Speaking to CGMagazine, Tomaszkiewicz stated that they didn’t envision The Blood of Dawnwalker as just a one-off adventure. The team’s goal is to build a broader series centered around the main character, Coen, spanning different eras, countries, cultures, local legends, and creatures of the night. In short, this project is built from the outset on a structure that opens the door to sequels.
The most striking detail is that players will shape Coen through their own decisions. According to Tomaszkiewicz, the choices players make will influence the character’s development and decisions in future games. This means that The Blood of Dawnwalker could allow each player to create their own version of Coen and carry that character into subsequent adventures.
This system sounds quite familiar. In the Mass Effect series, players could carry Commander Shepard and their choices from previous games into sequels. Character relationships, critical decisions, and some story outcomes had an impact on later games. The Blood of Dawnwalker could follow a similar path. However, the focus here seems to be on Coen’s personal journey as much as on a vast universe.
In Dragon Age, the emphasis was more on world order. Although each game featured different heroes, the player’s previous decisions affected the course of the universe. In Dawnwalker, Coen being the constant main character could make the story more personal and consistent. The game is scheduled for release on September 3, 2026. If these promises are fulfilled correctly, The Blood of Dawnwalker could be not only a strong first game, but the beginning of a long-running RPG series.
