The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Comes to Switch 2

Bethesda’s legendary RPG game, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, has been released on a new platform once again before The Elder Scrolls 6. In a joint announcement by Nintendo and Bethesda, it was officially revealed that the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim is now available for Switch 2. Despite the passage of years, Skyrim continues to appear on different platforms, and this new version offers both technical improvements and exclusive content, inviting Nintendo users back to Tamriel.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition Switch 2 Details Shared

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 comes with faster loading times and improved resolution support compared to previous versions. A gameplay video shared by Bethesda reveals that the game offers a smoother experience on the new hardware.

This version also includes Nintendo-exclusive content. Items like the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion’s Tunic, familiar from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, are available on the Switch 2 version as before. This detail stands out as one of the elements that makes Skyrim different for Nintendo players.

The Switch 2 version includes the base content as well as three official expansion packs. Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire are included in the Anniversary Edition, along with hundreds of Creation Club items. This results in one of the most comprehensive versions of Skyrim to date.

For players who already own Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch, there’s good news. Bethesda has announced that existing owners can upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free. Users with the base edition can purchase the Anniversary Upgrade to download the game on Switch 2. Skyrim once again offers a strong reason to “play it again.”
