Rogue, known for leaking Ubisoft content, shared a nearly one-minute audio clip on social media that he claims belongs to Far Cry 7. Presented against a mountainous landscape, the most striking element in the clip is the constantly heard ticking of a clock. The gradually increasing tempo of the sound strengthens the interpretation that the concept of time may play an important role in the game.
This detail aligns with previous Far Cry 7 rumors. According to claims shared in 2023, players might need to complete the main story within 24 real hours in the new game. The rumor suggests the story will revolve around a family needing rescue before a certain time runs out, offering a significantly different experience for players familiar with the series.
The 72 hours in the game would supposedly correspond to 24 hours in real life. The clock would only stop in safe zones, continuing to tick during all other activities. This idea could be controversial for Far Cry players who enjoy exploring the open world at their own pace, as the series has generally been built around side quests, exploration, and spontaneous combat.
Previously, there have been various leaks regarding Far Cry 7, including the Alaska setting, the extraction mode, and some canceled older versions. Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming also suggested the game’s development process was quite challenging. For now, all this information remains rumored as there is no official statement from Ubisoft.
