The Ghost of Yotei Legends multiplayer mode is finally getting ready to meet players. This content, a continuation of the popular expansion from Ghost of Tsushima, has been eagerly awaited since the game’s release. The latest information reveals a detail that Ghost of Yotei players will particularly appreciate:

Ghost of Yotei Legends Mode Coming Without Microtransactions

According to information shared by Sucker Punch, the Ghost of Yotei Legends mode will be offered as completely free content. More importantly, the mode will not include any microtransaction systems or elements requiring additional money, such as season passes. It is stated that all cosmetic content encountered by players can only be unlocked by playing the game.

Darren Bridges, the studio’s lead designer, says the multiplayer mode was actually developed in parallel with much of the game’s development process. A small team continued testing how the multiplayer systems would work while the main game was being developed. As the main story neared completion, the team expanded, and the Legends mode began to be developed more extensively.

Some of the cosmetic items in Legends mode have quite striking designs. One example given by Bridges is a bizarre helmet with moving eyes. It is stated that all of these fantasy and supernatural-themed items will be offered free of charge to Ghost of Yotei owners.

This approach is considered a remarkable choice, especially considering the aggressive microtransaction systems seen in many multiplayer games today. The fact that players will not have to spend extra money to upgrade their characters or access new cosmetics already sets Ghost of Yotei Legends apart.
