Tony Hawk 1+2 Quietly Removed from Xbox Game Pass Schedule

Tony Hawk 1+2 has been removed from the release schedule just days before its scheduled addition to Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft announced the titles coming to the service in July last week, including Activision’s skateboarding game. However, the announcement on Xbox Wire was later quietly updated. The reason for the removal hasn’t been given, and it’s currently unclear whether the game has simply been delayed.

Why Was Tony Hawk 1+2 Removed from the Game Pass List?

The initial schedule released by Xbox stated that Tony Hawk 1+2 would be added to the Game Pass catalog on July 21, 2026. The game was announced alongside Gears of War: Reloaded Premium Edition, the Palworld 1.0 update, and other titles to be released that month. A later editor’s note added to the list explained that Tony Hawk 1+2 had been removed from the list of upcoming games.

Neither Microsoft nor Activision shared the reason behind the decision. The fact that the game is published by Activision, a subsidiary of Microsoft, makes the last-minute change even more noteworthy. Normally, a licensing or publishing dispute might be considered, but the fact that the two companies are under the same umbrella raises questions about this possibility.

The other game in the series, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, is still playable on Game Pass. This suggests that the removal decision is not directly related to a general licensing issue concerning the Tony Hawk brand. A technical problem, a change in the release schedule, or an undisclosed alternative publishing strategy are among the possibilities.

It is not yet known whether Tony Hawk 1+2 will be added to the catalog at a later date. Microsoft’s statement only indicates that the game has been removed from the current schedule, but does not offer certainty about a permanent cancellation. Game Pass subscribers who enjoy skateboarding will have to continue with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 and EA’s Skate game for now.
