Another Version of the GTA 6 Map was Discovered in GTA 5
Years of research into the GTA 6 map have been reignited by clues that may be hidden in Rockstar Games’ older games. Players examining new content added to GTA 5 noticed that an abstract painting on a wall bears a striking resemblance to the anticipated Leonida map. Moreover, this isn’t the first suspicious painting discovered in recent weeks.
GTA 6 Map Appears in GTA 5
The new discovery began when a GTA 5 player closely examined a wall painting in a building. The painting features a large, bright green shape in the center, surrounded by smaller, darker pieces. At first glance, it appears to be an ordinary abstract artwork, but when the image is rotated 180 degrees, a very familiar shape resembling a map emerges.
Players have juxtaposed the painting with a community map that has been compiled over the years based on trailers and released footage. Comparing the two images, the islands believed to be Leonida Keys, the Grassrivers area, and the coastal structure around Vice City are located in similar spots. Some fans say that cropping and mirroring the image makes the similarity even more pronounced.
Of course, Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed the painting’s connection to GTA 6. Therefore, it’s too early to consider the discovery a definitive clue. However, the theory seems more plausible than previous attempts to deduce trailer release dates from stars in the sky or character clothing. Especially considering the company’s statement that its marketing process will be “creative,” players’ suspicions are further strengthened.
Take-Two management had stated that GTA 6 marketing would begin in the summer, but so far it has been quite quiet. Perhaps the campaign isn’t really quiet, but simply progressing through small details waiting for players to notice. If the GTA 6 map is indeed hidden in this painting, then Rockstar is making quite a good use of fan detective work to promote its new game.
