The Avengers: Doomsday trailer quickly became the center of attention due to its feature-rich cast, bringing together characters from different eras of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The large cast, the return of familiar heroes, and glimpses of a new threat ensured the trailer spread rapidly on social media platforms. The announced viewing figures reveal just how high the anticipation is for the film before its release.
Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Reaches 503 Million Views on First Day
The Avengers: Doomsday trailer reached a total of 503 million views across various platforms within its first 24 hours. This made it the biggest trailer ever released by Disney. It also became the second-highest opening trailer of all time. Spider-Man: Brand New Day tops the list with 719 million views on its first day.
Marvel’s new trailer has surpassed the 475 million total views achieved by the second GTA 6 trailer in May 2025. Rockstar Games’ video had already broken the record set by Deadpool & Wolverine when it was released, creating a huge buzz. The first GTA 6 trailer, on the other hand, was viewed approximately 90 million times on YouTube in its first 24 hours alone. While the second trailer’s YouTube figures remained around 75 million, the total across other platforms was significantly higher.
Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel universe as Doctor Doom played a significant role in the success of Avengers: Doomsday. The return of Joe and Anthony Russo as directors, and the fact that Avengers members, Fantastic Four, and X-Men characters would be appearing in the same film, further fueled interest. Disney and Marvel’s official channels in different countries, localized accounts, and large followings facilitated the trailer’s rapid reach to millions of users.
While viewership numbers don’t directly guarantee box office or sales success, they clearly demonstrate the high expectations surrounding both games. Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released in theaters on December 18, 2026, while GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026. Although Marvel has taken the lead in trailer competition, Rockstar’s new game is expected to break various sales records upon release.
