CONTROL Resonant Showed Its New Trailer at Gamescom 2026

Remedy Entertainment released a new trailer for CONTROL Resonant titled “Altered State” during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. In this sequel to the first Control, we’ll be controlling Dylan Faden, Jesse Faden’s brother. The new trailer shows that alongside familiar threats like Hiss and Mold, new supernatural events that truly twist Manhattan will be central to the story.

CONTROL Resonant Highlights Dylan Faden’s Powers

The trailer highlights fast-paced combat where Dylan combines supernatural abilities with melee combat. One of the character’s primary weapons will be a shape-shifting melee weapon called Aberrant. While this weapon transforms into different forms, Dylan will also be able to utilize his paranatural powers in combat, such as throwing objects and controlling enemies.

At the start of the story, Dylan escapes from the Oldest House, where he was held captive for years by the Federal Bureau of Control, and arrives in Manhattan. However, the situation outside is dire. Jesse Faden is missing, and the city is under the influence of a new type of resonance, as well as the threats of Hiss and Mold. Dylan’s goal is to find his brother and understand the source of the cosmic threat that is transforming reality.

CONTROL Resonant will offer a much larger Manhattan, moving beyond the more closed Oldest House structure of the first game. Remedy describes the game as its most comprehensive project to date. Gamescom 2026 also gives visitors the opportunity to try the game publicly for the first time; a playable demo will be available at the Level Infinite booth throughout the event.

CONTROL Resonant will be released on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store and will also feature GeForce NOW support; a Mac version will be released later in the year. The new trailer from Gamescom once again shows that Remedy is aiming for a more aggressive combat system and a larger-scale world in the sequel.
