The Blood of Dawnwalker Showed Its Release Trailer at Gamescom 2026
Developed by Rebel Wolves and published by Bandai Namco, The Blood of Dawnwalker released its launch trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live. This dark fantasy open-world RPG is set in the 14th-century Vale Sangora region. Players will control Coen, a human by day and a vampire by night, attempting to rescue his family from Brencis and his vampire gang.
The Blood of Dawnwalker Plays Day and Night Differently
One of the most important aspects of the game will be Coen’s dual nature. During the day, human abilities, weapons, and tactical combat options are more prominent, while at night, his vampire powers come into play. This change affects not only the combat system but also the paths available for quests and the player’s relationship with the world.
Rebel Wolves previously showcased its directional combat system, spells, vampire abilities, and exploration mechanics in detail in gameplay demonstrations. The ability to tackle quests at different times also allows players to solve the same problem in multiple ways. This structure aims to offer a more flexible RPG experience than classic open-world quests.
The Gamescom trailer also highlights the oppression of the vampires Brencis and Vrakhiris on Vale Sangora. In the story, Coen’s struggle will not only be to save his family but also to fight the blood tax-based system established in the region. This system, imposed by Brencis on the villagers, is central to the game’s main conflict.
The Blood of Dawnwalker will be released on September 3, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It has been confirmed that a Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS will be available on console launch day. The Gamescom launch trailer offers a final overview of the game’s dark world just days before players step into Vale Sangora.
