Crimson Desert Players are Stranded in the Hernand Region
While the sense of freedom and rich content offered by the game is impressive at first glance, this presents a different picture specifically in Hernand. Players can spend dozens of hours even in just a small part of the map. This makes the scale of Crimson Desert very clear from the early stages.
Hernand Region Captivates Players
The Hernand region offers much more than a classic starting area. The variety of quests, side stories, and exploration elements are so intense that many players even think it could be the entire game. The fact that almost every character in the city offers a quest means that players are constantly encountering new content.
Players are constantly engaged not only with main quests but also with faction quests and random encounters. Even simply exploring the map opens doors to new quest chains, creating a cycle that constantly delays leaving Hernand. This is why many players remain in the same area even after spending dozens of hours there.
Community posts reveal that some players play 50-60 hours and still haven’t left Hernand. While some consciously choose this, others are forced to turn back due to high-level enemies when they venture outside the area. This poses a significant challenge for early explorers.
The density of content in Hernand raises expectations for the rest of the game while also drastically slowing down the progression. Players don’t want to leave without consuming all the content in this area, making the Crimson Desert experience a much longer initial journey than expected.
