Duck-themed Horror Game QUIET Breaks Player Record
QUIET is poised to be one of the most unusual horror games to launch in 2027. Combining an alien theme with ducks, the game might seem like a joke at first glance, but it’s generating considerable interest from players. The numbers from the initial global testing phase show that the game is already building a strong community.
QUIET Reaches Over 271,000 Players in First Game Test
According to official data, 271,132 players participated in QUIET’s first game test. A total of 350,403 people registered for the test, with players coming from 148 different countries. These numbers are by no means insignificant for a horror game that hasn’t yet been fully released.
QUIET offers a horror experience that can be played by one to four players. In the story, you control ducks that accidentally fall into a house and try to escape. The small problem is that every sound you make is audible to the surroundings. Moving without revealing your location to the homeowner is therefore the main tension of the game.
The testing period wasn’t just notable for the number of players. Over 800 Twitch streams were opened during the game, and more than 420 videos were produced. The development team also collected over 820 detailed survey responses from players. So the test became a significant data source, not only for promotion but also for the development process.
According to the Steam page, QUIET is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2027. Whether new testing periods will be held until then has not yet been announced. But if a duck-themed horror game brought together over 270,000 players in its first test, it wouldn’t be surprising if the number of people wanting to participate in the next test increased even more.
