Mads Mikkelsen Will be the Main Villain of Modern Warfare 4
Modern Warfare 4, with its new trailer released at Tokyo Game Show, has given one of the most important clues to its story yet. Infinity Ward’s new game doesn’t seem to be just escalating the conflict between Captain Price and Task Force 141. The new character revealed in the final part of the trailer largely clarifies who the main threat in the scenario will be.
Modern Warfare 4 Will Use Mads Mikkelsen as the Main Villain
At the end of the new trailer, Mads Mikkelsen appears as an unnamed character. It seems that this character will directly confront Captain Price and will be one of the game’s main antagonists. Mikkelsen’s character makes it clear from the very first scene that he’s not a calm person, telling Price that everyone and everything he loves will be destroyed.
Mikkelsen’s involvement with video games is nothing new. Players will especially remember him from his role as Clifford Unger in Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding. In Modern Warfare 4, however, he will be portraying a much more direct antagonist. Since his name and background haven’t been revealed yet, the character’s exact role in the story is unknown.
The campaign already seems a bit complicated. While Captain Price is said to have gone his own way and started working with a cartel, it appears that the rest of Task Force 141, led by Simon “Ghost” Riley, is hunting him down. Despite this, there are strong indications that all sides could eventually unite against Mikkelsen’s character.
Another major conflict in Modern Warfare 4’s story will be the war between North and South Korea. This region, rarely explored in the Call of Duty series, is said to form a significant part of the campaign. With a strong actor like Mads Mikkelsen involved, Modern Warfare 4 is preparing to attempt a different and more character-driven scenario than recent Call of Duty games.
