The presentation wasn’t limited to upcoming games. Projects extending into 2027 and 2028 were showcased, and Hideo Kojima also provided new information about the development processes of OD: Knock and PHYSINT. Here are all the announcements made at Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Announcements
Gachiakuta: Breakout
Gachiakuta: Breakout, adapted from the popular anime series, was showcased with gameplay footage during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026. The game is being developed as a melee-focused survival action RPG, aiming to directly bring the anime world to life.
The visual style, emphasizing a cartoonish aesthetic, was striking in the footage shown. The colorful yet harsh atmosphere of the world retains Gachiakuta’s unique art style, while the combat appears faster and more physical. The game’s release date has not yet been announced.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour
Crazy Taxi: World Tour was one of the most nostalgic announcements of the presentation with its new gameplay trailer. The series’ long-standing fast-paced arcade driving style returns, and the new game combines this structure with more colorful, modern visuals.
The trailer showed that the classic Crazy Taxi formula has been largely preserved. Getting passengers to their destinations as quickly as possible, performing crazy maneuvers, and chasing high scores will still be the core of the game. Crazy Taxi: World Tour will be released in 2027 for Xbox and PC.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was featured at Tokyo Game Show 2026 with a new story trailer. This time, the focus was specifically on the Korean perspective in the game’s story, sharing glimpses of previously unseen characters, locations, and events.
The trailer features Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.” and shows a large-scale beach assault in Korea reminiscent of the Normandy landings. Modern Warfare 4 will be released on October 23rd.
Persona 4 Revival
Persona 4 Revival has finally received a confirmed release date with a new trailer. The trailer showcased new footage focusing on Naoto, and confirmed the game’s release date is February 18th.
Bringing the revamped Persona 4 experience to modern platforms, the game will also be added to the Game Pass library from day one. This means that Xbox players who haven’t experienced the series before will have direct access to Persona 4’s story.
Shape of Dreams
Neowiz has released a new trailer for Shape of Dreams. Using an isometric camera angle, the game combines a hack-and-slash action RPG structure with fast-paced combat and diverse character abilities.
The good news is that you don’t have to wait for the game’s release. Shape of Dreams is currently playable. The Tokyo Game Show presentation also served as a comprehensive reminder for players who haven’t yet explored the game’s core mechanics.
Hope in the City
Hope in the City was one of the new games announced during the presentation. Adopting a story-driven exploration and adventure structure, the game follows a young girl trying to find her lost family.
Players will explore the city, collecting clues and trying to understand what happened to the family. Distinguished by its unique visual style, Hope in the City will be released on November 10, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC. The game will also be added to Game Pass on the same day and will have Xbox Play Anywhere support.
Raji: Kaliyuga
Raji: Kaliyuga has revealed its story and gameplay systems in more detail with its new trailer. One of the game’s most important features will be its gameplay system, which progresses through two different main characters.
Acrobatic martial arts are at the heart of the conflicts. The characters’ agile movements and different fighting styles seem to expand on the atmosphere of the previous game with a more dynamic action system. Raji: Kaliyuga is being developed for Xbox and PC, but a release date has not yet been announced.
Once Human: Isles of Abyss
Once Human: Isles of Abyss is being touted as the game’s biggest update to date. The new content takes players out to sea in a small fishing boat, combining the classic fishing experience with the dark world of Once Human.
Of course, calmly casting your line and watching the scenery isn’t exactly easy. Giant creatures lurk in the seas, and players will first have to avoid them, and then likely engage in direct combat. Isles of Abyss will be released for free on October 22nd.
Faraday Blues
Faraday Blues is presented as a new project that combines science fiction, visual novel, and strategic card game systems in a single structure. The player’s decisions, the cards they use, and the endings they reach will directly alter reality.
The game will consist of three interconnected storylines and will have numerous different possible endings. Each ending will bring us a little closer to the truth behind the story. Faraday Blues is being developed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC; it will also have Xbox Cloud and Xbox Play Anywhere support.
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories received a new trailer during Tokyo Game Show 2026. The most notable aspect of the presentation was the return of some characters familiar from Atelier Yumia.
The new trailer confirmed Rutger and Lenja’s presence in Atelier Karia. While not many details were shared regarding the game’s story or the characters’ roles in the new adventure, it’s certain that there will be connections to previous games in the series.
Edge of Memories
The new trailer released for Edge of Memories focuses directly on the combat system. Fast movements, flashy attacks, and combat scenes with rapid-fire abilities are prominently featured in the presentation.
The new footage particularly highlights the action side of the game. The wait for Edge of Memories won’t be long either. The game will be released on November 5, 2026 for Xbox and PC.
Genigods: Nezha
Genigods: Nezha was showcased in a new video prepared by the development team. The main focus of the presentation was boss battles, and the aerial attacks in particular were reminiscent of the fast-paced action of Devil May Cry.
However, the game isn’t solely based on aerial combos. More ground-based melee movements, different weapons, and various abilities will also be important parts of the gameplay. Genigods: Nezha is being developed for Xbox and PC, and its release year has been announced as 2028.
Fallout 76: The Slasher
The Xbox presentation wasn’t complete without a Fallout 76 update. Bethesda has released new Halloween-themed content called The Slasher.
The update adds horror-themed content to the existing world of Fallout 76. The good news is that you don’t have to wait long after the announcement; The Slasher update is now playable.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement has been announced as a new side-scrolling metroidvania reminiscent of classic Castlevania games. The game’s art design and gothic atmosphere, even from the first images, show that it remains true to the roots of the Bloodstained series.
Published by 505 Games, The Scarlet Engagement will continue the classic metroidvania structure that combines exploration and action. The game will be released in 2027 for PC and Xbox Series X.
OD: Knock
Towards the end of the Xbox broadcast, Hideo Kojima took the stage to give an update on the development of OD: Knock. Kojima stated that the project is progressing as planned and that they are preparing a different experience aimed at once again pushing the boundaries of fear for players.
Performance capture and ADR recordings, which were halted during the SAG strike, have resumed this year. According to Kojima, the development process is proceeding according to schedule. However, no gameplay footage was shared during the presentation, and we will have to wait a little longer for a more comprehensive demonstration of the game.
PHYSINT
A more detailed status update was also shared for Kojima Productions’ PHYSINT project. It was announced that casting, performance capture scans, and work with external creatives contributing to the project are progressing steadily.
The game’s cast has also been finalized. Bill Skarsgård will star in the lead role, while Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe have also joined the cast. Hideo Kojima describes PHYSINT as a project that draws on his more than 40-year career experience and will push the boundaries of the “action-espionage” genre.
