Dungeon of Dragon Knight Remake Announced
Dungeon of Dragon Knight Remake, announced as a remastered version of the 2019 PC release, combines classic first-person dungeon exploration with real-time combat. Developed by HexGameStudio, the PlayStation 5 version is finally coming to players after years of solo work by developer Hector Xiang.
When is Dungeon of Dragon Knight Remake Released?
Dungeon of Dragon Knight Remake will be released on August 10th for PlayStation 5. The game will be released on the PlayStation Store and will be sold at a 20% discount for the first week. The exact retail price has not yet been announced.
The game is a classic dungeon crawler RPG with a first-person perspective and a square-based movement system. Players can assemble a team of four and choose from different classes and races. Each character has unique abilities and progression paths, while exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving progress simultaneously.
Dungeons won’t just be corridors filled with enemies. Hidden keys, ancient inscriptions, letters, and environmental clues will play a crucial role in reaching new levels. In the story, the Artifact that the Dragon Knight used to seal the darkness is stolen, and players enter a dangerous dungeon to find it.
Some systems have also been simplified in the remake. The developer says they completely removed the shop and currency systems because they didn’t want to interrupt the exploration flow. Controller support has also been fully implemented in this version. Interestingly, the project is almost entirely developed by a single developer. Dungeon of Dragon Knight Remake seems less like a big-budget remake and more like a long-term culmination of a commitment to classic RPGs.
